Russia withdraws thousands of troops from Ukraine border hours after Ukrainian helicopter was shot down killing 14 onboard
US defence officials confirmed the majority of the 40,000 Russian
forces who had been aligned along the border of eastern Ukraine had been
withdrawn on Thursday.
