Another case of abuse at a nursery school? Police arrested an
administrator, teacher and assistant at a central Israel nursery school
under suspicion of neglect and abuse of a minor.
The suspects, who are residents of the Dan
region and are 50 and 30 years old respectively, were arrested three
weeks ago following complaints filed by parents of the young children at
the school. Parents claimed that staff were pulling the children’s hair
and abusing them.
Following the initial complaint, further evidence was collected regarding abuse at the school, which is intended for children ages 2-4. One complaint alleged that all the children at the school were forced to eat from one plate. Evidence collected by police strengthened the parent’s complaints.
As part of the investigation, assistants who worked at the school were held for questioning and later released under house arrest. The three primary suspects are expected to appear before a Tel Aviv District court for their remand hearing.
