Nobel Prize in chemistry awarded to two Americans, German |
The
winners of the 2014 Nobel Prize in Chemistry are Eric Betzig, Stefan W.
Hell and William E. Moerner, the Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences in
Stockholm announced early Wednesday. The scientists were lauded for bringing "optical microscopy into the nanodimension.” Betzig is affliated with Howard Hughes Medical Institute in Ashburn, Va., Moerner is a professor at Stanford University in Stanford, Calif., and Hell heads the German Cancer Research Center in Heidelberg, Germany. |
