Oregon college gunman took his own life, officials say

Christopher Harper-Mercer killed himself after he fatally shot nine people and wounded nine others during an attack at Umpqua Community College in Roseburg, Ore., officials said today.
During a news briefing, Douglas County Sheriff John Hanlin said the medical examiner had determined that Harper-Mercer’s death was a suicide.
Officials had originally said the gunman died during an exchange of gunfire with responding officers.
