EU
abstentions clear way for UN enquiry on Gaza
The eight EU
states which hold seats on the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva - Austria, the
Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, and Romania -
Wednesday abstained in a vote on launching an enquiry into Israeli actions in
Gaza. The US was the only member voting No.
