RAMALLAH - Palestinian sick prisoners suffer poor detention conditions in Ramle prison hospital as they have been deprived from receiving treatment for long years, Palestinian Prisoner Society revealed.
The sick prisoner Riad Amour, sentenced to 11 life imprisonment terms, has not changed his heart valve for 13 years despite his complaints of cardiovascular disorders, while the sick prisoner Khaled Shawish suffer from deadly pains from injuries he sustained during his arrest.
The prisoner Nahedh al-Akraa, whose health status has also remarkably gone down as his two legs were amputated, and the sick prisoner Mansour Moukada, who uses a plastic stomach and colostomy bags after random Israeli gunshots ruined his body, suffer ill-treatment and medical neglect inside of Israeli jails since their arrest long time ago.
Along the same line, the detainee Ashraf Abu Huda suffer from sharp back and leg pains that no painkillers managed to soothe.
Meanwhile, the family of the sick prisoner Rizq Rajoub, 57, has appealed to human rights institutions to intervene for his release before it is too late.
The prisoner’s brother Hamdan Rajoub told Ahrar center for prisoners’ studies that Rizq, who spent 22 years in Israeli jails, was rearrested 15 days after his last release and only two days after undergoing gallbladder surgery.
Rizq was arrested on July 1st then held in administrative detention for six months where he was taken to hospital more than once due to his health deterioration.
For his turn, head of the center Fuad al-Khuffash said that Riaq Rajoub suffer from poor health condition that urgently needs immediate intervention.
Al-Khuffash pointed out that the Palestinian sick prisoners’ number has significantly increased in Israeli jails due to the Israeli deliberate medical negligence policy.
