World’s weed growers have new rival to fear from South America

Colombia's government, which recently legalized medical marijuana, envisions the country quickly becoming a world player in the manufacture of cannabis-based oils and creams. “This is going to be a new commodity, there’s an emerging global medical marijuana business,” Health Minister Alejandro Gaviria says, comparing Colombia medical marijuana to Chile's wine and Peru's fresh produce exports.
