Pennsylvania Legalizes Medical Marijuana

Pennsylvania Legalizes Medical Marijuana

Pennsylvania Gov. Tom Wolf signed a bipartisan bill into law Sunday legalizing medical marijuana across the commonwealth. Patients with serious medical conditions will receive access to medical marijuana with a physician’s prescription beginning next month. The state’s Department of Health may authorize as many as 150 dispensaries throughout the state. Patients in Pennsylvania can cross state lines to access the drug at dispensaries in other states until the program is fully implemented, which officials say could take 18-24 months. The only types of marijuana initially approved for use includes pills, cream, and oils that can be used in a vapor.
