Names of police officers in shootings must be disclosed, court says

The California Supreme Court ruled today that police agencies
may no longer have blanket policies against disclosing the names of
officers involved in shootings.The state’s highest court, in a 6-1 vote, said California law generally requires disclosure, a ruling that is likely to reverse a trend toward secrecy in departments across the state.
