Drunken Sailor Sodomized With Beer Bottle, Slapped In Face During Videotaped Assault

It was all fun and games until someone got hurt.

A Royal Navy sailor has been accused of assaulting another sailor by shoving a Heineken bottle up his butt after he passed out drunk. Another sailor has been accused of slapping the victim across the face with his penis. Both men appeared before a Portsmouth Naval Base court this week.

The attack happened in August 2013 aboard the HMS Northumberland warship after it docked in Bournemouth, Dorset, for an air show. After a hard night of drinking, the victim, whose name has not been released, passed out in the ship’s common area. At some point, a group of sailors snuck over and pulled down his pants then posed for pictures next to his bare butt, sticking out their tongues and giving the thumbs up.

“Matters were to escalate rapidly,” Nadim Bashir, prosecuting attorney, told the court.

According to Bashim, 31-year-old Christopher Cook unzipped his pants, pulled out his penis, and proceeded to whip the victim in the face with it. Meanwhile, 34-year-old Andrew Donaldson “took hold of a beer bottle and made a statement for those viewing the video of his intentions.”

Donaldson then used the bottle to sodomize the victim.

“When the neck of the bottle didn’t go in far enough,” Bashim continued, “with both hands he pushed to the base of the bottle to insert the whole neck of the bottle resulting in the complainant recoiling and waking up.”

“I remember being woken by a feeling of intense pressure in my anus,” the victim said in a statement that was read to the court. “This confused me as I didn’t know what was going on.”

The entire incident was videotaped on Donaldson’s cellphone by a man named Roger Spratt. Photographs were also taken “for the amusement of others.”

“To add to the humiliation,” Bashim continued, “the footage was emailed by Logistician Donaldson to himself to ensure a copy was kept on his computer for future use.”

Afterwards, the footage was allegedly passed around to several other crew members.

“I was very drunk, for this to wake me up demonstrates the force used,” the victim said. “At no time have I given anyone permission to touch me or carry out such an act.”

Both Donaldson and Cook have been charged with one count each of disgraceful conduct of an indecent kind. Donaldson is also charged with an alternative count of assault by penetration.
