Obama announces Cuban, U.S. embassies to reopen in Washington, Havana

President Obama today announced an agreement with the Cuban
government to reopen embassies in Washington and Havana, the most
significant move yet toward normalizing relations after a half-century
of a diplomatic deep freeze. The development, announced in the White House Rose Garden, comes six months after Obama and Cuban President Raul Castro agreed to end the Cold War-era standoff.
