Paintings by Hitler To Go Up For Auction
Five paintings by pre-dictatorial Adolf Hitler will be auctioned off on Sunday. The future Nazi Fuhrer painted the watercolors, mainly of buildings and horses, between 1908 and 1910, when he was pursuing art professionally, Central European News reported. The paintings are expected to sell for between $5,500 and $14,000 in the auction, which will be held in the Slovakian village of Nizny Hrusov. The artwork comes from descendants of the family that accommodated the young Hitler as he was trying to get into the Academy of Fine Arts in Vienna. "The works come from the same period, when young Hitler painted small pictures and postcards and got himself ready for the Academy," said Jaroslav Krajnak, an administrator for the auction company, Darte.
