The pop superstar performed an emotional version of “Purpose,” the title track of his hit 2015 album, as the names of the 49 victims appeared on a massive screen behind him. Included among the names was that of “The Voice” singer Christina Grimmie, whodied just one day before the Pulse nightclub shooting after being shot, allegedly by a deranged fan, after an Orlando performance.
