Senate confirms out lesbian as federal judge
Alison Nathan, an out lesbian, has been confirmed by the U.S. Senate for a seat on the U.S. District Court of the Southern District of New York. A former teacher at Fordham University Law School, Nathan also served as a White House associate counsel before being nominated for the federal bench by President Barack Obama.
