Supreme Court declines to hear gay adoption case
The Supreme Court this week declined to hear a case involving a New York gay couple who sued to compel the state of Louisiana to alter their adopted son's birth certificate to indicate they are his adoptive parents. A federal appeals court said Louisiana "has the right to issue birth certificates in the manner it deems fit." Louisiana does not allow unmarried couples to adopt.
