I am furious‏, really outraged!

Last week, we heard the exciting news that Senator Kirsten Gillibrand introduced the Every Child Deserves a Family Act (ECDF) into the Senate for the very first time.
We just got a stunning reminder of why this bill is badly needed.
In response to the introduction of ECDF, Family Research Council urged supporters to pray, warning that this bill would “subject foster and adoptive children to the homosexual indoctrination and behavior of LGBT ‘parents.'"
It makes me furious. Day after day, the 115,000 children eligible for adoption in the U.S. foster care system wish for nothing more than a loving family, and a place to call home forever.
But organizations like the Family Research Council, and many adoption agencies nationwide, would deny children the right to have a family if it meant allowing LGBT parents to adopt.
For the sake of hundreds of thousands of children across the U.S., we can’t let them win. That’s why we are asking for your help now to enact the Every Child Deserves a Family Act (ECDF). This landmark legislation bans discrimination against potential adoptive parents on the basis of sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status – and gives children greater access to permanent homes.
Your special contribution will support our efforts to pass this critical legislation. With your help, we can keep our staff on Capitol Hill, and in the offices of key decision makers, where they are building momentum for the passage of ECDF in the House of Representatives and in the Senate, where ECDF was introduced last week. Give now >
More than 30 years of rigorous social science research shows that children raised by LGBT parents are just as happy, healthy and well-adjusted as children raised by straight parents. But organizations like the Family Research Council, and countless adoption agencies across the country, still haven’t gotten the message. That’s why we urgently need to pass national protections for qualified LGBT people who want to adopt, and children desperately longing for a family of their own.
Please, make a contribution now – and join our team in bringing the Every Child Deserves a Family Act one step closer to becoming law.
