Calif. Supreme Court will consider new Prop 8 challenge
The
California Supreme Court has denied a request that it stop same-sex
weddings, but it will hear arguments about whether the U.S. Supreme
Court decision invalidating Proposition 8 applies only to the couples
named in the federal lawsuit. Many legal experts doubt the California
court will be swayed. "Like a chicken with its head cut off, Proposition
8 is trying to act alive, even though it has no real chance of being
revived," said Vikram Amar, a law professor at the University of
