Students at Beijing University don't recognize the famous Tank Man picture taken at Tiananmen Square!

Tiananmen Square is a huge square in the center of Beijing, China. In 1989, it was the site of an infamous protest. The military took action and multiple protesters were killed. At one point, a man, who would later be dubbed "Tank Man," stood in front of a line of tanks. He refused to move until two people forced him aside (likely to save him from being crushed). A photographer captured this famous moment.
When students at Beijing University, where the first activism of this protest had started, were shown the photograph of Tank Man. They didn't know what it was. One student asked if it were a parade. Another asked if it was a piece of art. Their total lack of knowledge of this huge cultural event is a testament to China's ability to distort reality and keep secrets from it's people.
