Russia May Build Eight Reactors in Iran

The RIA Russian News Agency quoted today a source, who requested anonymity, saying that Moscow may sign an agreement this year to build eight new nuclear reactors in Iran.  It should be noted that until today, Russia was only responsible for building one nuclear reactor in Iran, in Bushehr in the south-western part of the Islamic Republic.
Last week, Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the requirement to reduce nuclear enrichment was “ridiculous.” He added that ‘Iran’s rights are a red line in the nuclear talks.” Araghchi stressed that the character of the Arak reactor will not change following the talks and that it will continue to produce heavy water.
Earlier last week, Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stressed that western expectations that Iran will stop their missile production were “stupid and foolish.” He announced the mass production of ballistic missiles days before Iran held discussions with the west.
