Some Theaters Agree to Show Sony’s ‘The Interview’ Despite Threat

Sony Pictures has secured at least a limited theatrical release for “The Interview” on Christmas Day, according to people briefed on the effort. The theatrical screenings might happen simultaneously with video-on-demand distribution, those people said.

Last week, about 80 percent of the theaters in the United States and Canada refused to show “The Interview” in the face of a terror threat. But Sony reached out to theater owners again, asking if they would re-book the film.
