The prominent political figures of the Palestinian factions were there including Fateh and Hamas, but with no masses to be mentioned; the number of the journalists and reporters was more than the “masses”.
What caught the eyes is that some of the youths started chanting against the “prominent figures of the factions” joking at them: “why are you standing here? Why not going ahead? Is it because there is no TV cameras to catch your faces?” This forced the “leaders” to go ahead in front of us to the Zionist checkpoint some 400 meters ahead.
What attracted our attentions also that the factions “parties” were unable to collect more than 50-60 demonstrators, and the “commandos” of these factions were null on the scene. Who lead the scene were the youths of Qalandia refugee camp who have nothing to do with the factions, and even if they belonged to this or that faction, they didn’t need a permission from their faction to confront the Zionist soldiers.
What s going on now on the Palestinian ground is a resistance retaliating to all what the occupation has inflicted of tyranny, humiliation, suppress, killing and devastation which led the youths to react hopelessly at the time where there no hoped remained after the dead end to which the Zionist “peace” process ended to. In addition to that is the gloomy feeling that brooded after the vacant UN sessions, with all what they included of trivial speeches and bombastic discourse, and the collective feeling that the world has forgotten about Palestine and turned its back to us tailing its priorities.
The Palestinian youth confronting the Zionist occupation soldiers, in the midlist of all this Zionist criminality broadcasted live on TV screens and the racist mentality ruling the Zionist state, and all what is going on on the ground from Judiazing Jerusalem, the Zionist official desecration of Al-Aqsa Mosque and trying to divide it in an attempt to Judiaze it later on. These youths are actually the new generation of Palestine who feel that there is no hope to live peacefully with the Zionist occupiers who blocked all the possible horizons for a peaceful settlement or a near seen end for the occupation.
The brutal scene of Zionist enjoying the torturing of the Palestinian kid Manasra leaving him bleeding on the ground, cant be imagined to pass without a furious reaction. The event proved that the mentality that the Zionist mentality that faces the Palestinian people has surpassed the Nazi one, the mentality of the holocaust and the concentration camps.
The Intifada, the uprising, the revolt (call it whatever you want) doesn’t differ than the previous ones as the youths are those who decide first and last decision maker, taking the initiative, and if Gaza was the spark for the first Intifada, Jerusalem is now that which pulled the trigger to revenge the Zionist criminality that is trying to Judiaze the Palestinian city away from the rest of the Palestine.
The revolting youths in the streets challenges not only the occupation forces that are trying to silence it by the brutal force, but also against anyone who is trying to end the revolt, and sending a message to the “civilized” world lead by the American “democracy” that as long as there is a Zionist occupation, then the resistance will keep going though it might appear fading now and then, as long as there is occupation it will definitely breeds resistance.
What is going on on the Palestinian ground is the natural retaliation to the Zionist racist policies and practice, a natural response for the extrajudicial executions, it is the price that the Zionist haven’t got used to pay for their crimes. The Zionist occupation has felt the luxury of being exempted from paying the price of occupation aided by local agents, and this is the main reason for the Zionist arrogance through out the “peaceful” years of the negotiations of the “peace process”. If the Zionist society has been paying this price and feeling that occupation is expensive, then things wouldn’t have been ended this way and the Zionist occupation leaders would have reshuffled their priorities away from occupation.
The Palestinian people is aware of its legitimate right to resist and fight the occupation, it is doing this now spontaneously without hesitation nor fear, the Palestinians no longer listen but to the calling of their homeland, the calling of the martyrs’ blood who were executed with cold blood, hence the retaliation to these crimes comes as it is now; the youth stab, shot or run over the occupiers where it is possible. These spontaneous and individual acts of resistance is done away from the “leadership” of the Palestinian factions, and this is the main source of the Zionist paranoia from unpredicted acts decided and done by individuals away from the eyes of the Zionist collaborators that are planted everywhere.
The current intifada will shuffle and baffle the Zionist perception of occupation of the land of others and suppressing its people. The slogan of “priceless or even profitable occupation’ will be part of the past. Let it be a “very expensive occupation” and only then, the Zionist occupation leaders will reconsider their occupational crimes.
