Swedish Foreign Minister Wallström under fire at home over housing scandal

triggering harsh criticism and implied accusations of anti-Semitism
over her comments about Israeli "extrajudicial killings," it turns out

Sweden's
outspoken Foreign Minister Margot Wallström, whose comments about
Israel sparked an outrage this week, is facing corruption allegations
back home over her Stockholm apartment.
According to the local
media, the country's largest trade union Kommunal had rented apartments
for reduced prices to several high-profile figures including Wallstrom,
bypassing a wait of several years for ordinary tenants.
Wallstrom
responded by saying Kommunal had lied to her by promising her she would
not jump over anyone on the waiting list. "I got confirmation from the
highest level that they followed all the rules and procedures in
assigning apartments," she said.
Last Tuesday, Wallstrom called
for an investigation into whether extrajudicial killings have been
committed by Israel during the recent wave of terror. In a conference
with foreign journalists stationed in Israel, Prime Minister Benjamin
Netanyahu called Wallström's statements "outrageous, immoral, unjust and
plain wrong."
