President Barack Obama is planning to wait until the Senate is back in
session to nominate someone to replace Supreme Court Justice Antonin
Scalia, Reuters reported on Sunday.
An administration official told Reuters Obama will not push through a
nominee this week. The president said that he plans to nominate a
successor “in due time.” Obama spoke about Scalia’s death on Saturday,
remembering him as a child of immigrants who influenced a generation of
lawyers. The president added that the justice will be remembered for
his wit and “colorful opinions.”
