This tropical U.S. territory could be voting for marijuana legalization in November
A lawmaker is
making an eleventh-hour push to get marijuana legalization on the
ballot this November in a tropical U.S. territory in the Western
Pacific. Legislation would allow residents of the Commonwealth of
Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI) to vote on whether cannabis should be
legalized for medicinal, personal and commercial uses. “While I continue
to support the legalization of marijuana for medicinal purposes, I
think that the temperament across the country is that full legalization
is working in the states that have legalized it," says Senator Sixto K.
Igisomar.
