Homophobic GOP Leader Claims Gay People ‘Want Free Medical Because They’re Dying’ Of AIDS

Remember
Republican National Committeeman Dave Agema? You know, the guy that
likes to who likes to repeat defamatory lies about gay people on his
Facebook page? Earlier this year Agema denounced “filthy homosexuals”
and proclaimed numerous false stories regarding homosexuals such as 43
percent of gay people “admit to 500 or more partners in a lifetime,”
“78% of homosexuals are affected by STDs,” and “50% of suicides can be
attributed to homosexuals,” among other falsehoods.
Just
like a xenophobic zit, Agema pops up for another round of hot comments
about gay marriage. At a Berrien County Republican Party Holiday
Reception, he reiterated his opposition to same-sex relationships.
According the Herald-Palladium, Agema was a pilot for American Airlines
for 27 years and claimed that American Airlines workers would say a
person with AIDS was their lover so that person could get medical
benefits.
“Folks, they (gay people) want free medical because they’re dying (when they’re) between 30 and 44 years old,” the paper quotes Agema saying last week. “To me, it’s a moral issue. It’s a Biblical issue. Traditional marriage is where it should be and it’s in our platform. Those in our party who oppose traditional marriage are wrong. I stand for traditional marriage, no homosexual ones. The family unit is the basic unit in society. When you tear the family apart, you tear the country apart.”
Several
requests for comment on clarification from Agema were denied. Most
likely because he was busy watching Wings. If only Agema would issue a
list of the gayest jobs, in descending order of gayitude, life would be
easier if we all knew who to hate the most while dispersing the hate
more proficiently.
On a side note, last week, Agema posted more inflammatory remarks to Facebook: "Lie after lie, incompetence and a socialist agenda.” Obama “needs to be impeached.”
This story proves the level of ignorance it really takes to be a Republican.
