Israeli navy gunboats open fire at Gaza fishermen
by FalastinNews Staff
Israeli navy gunboats opened heavy machinegun fire at Palestinian fishing boats in Gaza sea Saturday morning.
Palestinian
sources told Quds Press that a number of Israeli gunboats opened fire
at the Palestinian fishing boats in Gaza sea and off the northern Gaza
Strip coast.
The
sources said that the heavy shooting was focused in al-Sudaniyah
district in northern Gaza Strip and in Ejlin area to the west of Gaza
city.
The
fishermen were forced to return to shore due to intensive firing
without completing their work. No casualties were reported among the
fishermen, the sources added.
The
gunfire attack is the latest in a series of breaches of the ceasefire
agreement signed in Cairo last August between the Palestinian resistance
and Israel.
Moreover,
Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) arrested two Palestinians for passing
the security fence of the blockaded Gaza Strip on Saturday morning.
Local
sources told Quds Press that an Israeli military force rounded up in
the morning two Gazan civilians when they passed the security fence to
the east of the Israeli-besieged enclave.
Israeli sources revealed that the arrested men were taken to the Shin Bet headquarters for investigation.
Sneaking
into the lands of 1948 Occupied Palestine by Gazan people has recently
increased. About one hundred young men, who try to cross the border in
search of work, have been arrested since last November.
