A Chicago judge is expected to hear testimony Friday
in a lawsuit alleging that Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz
should not be allow to run for the White House. Illinois voter Lawrence
Joyce will have his case heard in Cook County Circuit Court. Joyce
objects to Cruz’s placement on the Illinois primary ballot next month
over the Texas senator’s Canadian birth, according to CNN. His previous
objection to Cruz’s eligibility was filed with the state’s Board of
Elections and was dismissed. Cruz maintains he’s a natural-born citizen
as his mother is American-born. “My case presents the perfect
opportunity for Donald Trump himself to step forward and bring the
matter to court personally,” Joyce told WBBM radio. However, Joyce said
he has not spoken to the Trump campaign and is supporting Ben Carson.
