The Alt-Right implodes as Sarah Palin attacks Donald Trump

When it came to finding support from the extremist lunatic conservative base known as the “Alt-Right” movement, Donald Trump never had to look any further than Sarah Palin for support. She endorsed him early in the primary season. He toured with him in Iowa. She attacked Paul Ryan by proxy when the Speaker dared to meekly stand up to Trump’s extremism. But in a sign that the Alt-Right loons are inevitably imploding, Palin is now publicly attacking Trump.
Even as Donald Trump has finally begun to realize that he can’t win the election as long as he clings to his extremist and racist conservative policies such as building a money-wasting wall on the border, or promising to deport eleven million people in a manner which would be tantamount to genocide, he’s gingerly explored methods of trying to back of some his most absurd premises. But as he’s begun to hint that he might not build his pointless symbolic wall after all, Sarah Palin is tearing him a new one for it.
Palin is now slamming Trump for being “wishy-washy” and a “massive disappointment” as he desperately scrambles to paint himself as being less insane in the eyes of normal voters. Her criticism encapsulates the corner which Trump is now backed into. If he sticks to the extremist positions that got him through the primary, he’ll lose the general election badly. But if he backs off those positions, not only is it unlikely he’ll change the minds of moderate voters who have decided he’s a nutcase, he risks losing his existing support base in the process.
Worse, because Donald Trump has spent a year courting the votes of mentally unstable conservative extremists while stoking their insanity even further for his own gain, they now appear to be turning on him in disturbing ways. One Trump supporter called in to the Glenn Beck show this week and threatened violence against Trump if he doesn’t build his promised wall. So as much as Sarah Palin is a national punchline, her attacks on Trump are indicative of a larger problem he’s facing with this Alt-Right base.
