After it was revealed Wednesday
that, in a forthcoming book, former President George H.W. Bush refers
to Donald Rumsfeld as “an arrogant fellow” who “hurt” his son George W.
Bush’s presidency, the former secretary of defense fired back Thursday
with a statement attacking the elder Bush’s age. “Bush 41 is getting up
in years and badly misjudges Bush 43, who I found made his own
decisions,” Rumsfeld said in a statement to MSNBC’s Andrea Mitchell.
“There are hundreds of memos on www.rumsfeld.com that represent advice DOD gave the president.” |
