Police say the Fox Lake, Illinois, cop who staged his own suicide after stealing from the department may have also arranged a sham marriage between his son and his own mistress. Authorities are questioning whether Joe Gliniewicz made his son, Donald, marry his own recently divorced mistress in order for the woman to be able to get the son’s military benefits. Donald and the woman divorced a year later. She would have received a $500 monthly stipend as a military spouse.
