Virginia will no longer recognize concealed-carry handgun permits from
25 states that have reciprocity agreements with the commonwealth, state
Attorney General Mark R. Herring announced Tuesday. The move is
considered part of a larger initiative by gun-control advocates to
tighten restrictions without going through GOP-controlled legislatures,
The Washington Post reported. Herring said severing the out-of-state
agreements will help prevent people who may be dangerous or
irresponsible from carrying a concealed handgun in Virginia.
