World powers agree to cease-fire in Syria

The United States, Russia and other world powers have agreed to a nationwide "cessation of hostilities" in Syria's civil war to start in one week in an effort to stop the carnage and allow delivery of humanitarian aid to besieged civilians.
The cease-fire, announced by Secretary of State John F. Kerry after a meeting in Munich, Germany, would not affect the U.S.-led coalition air attacks on Islamic State militants, or Russian airstrikes that Moscow says are aimed at terrorists.
