World powers agree to cease-fire in Syria

The United States, Russia and other world powers have agreed
to a nationwide "cessation of hostilities" in Syria's civil war to start
in one week in an effort to stop the carnage and allow delivery of humanitarian aid to besieged civilians.The cease-fire, announced by Secretary of State John F. Kerry after a meeting in Munich, Germany, would not affect the U.S.-led coalition air attacks on Islamic State militants, or Russian airstrikes that Moscow says are aimed at terrorists.
