Gay, transgender lawmakers take seats in Polish parliament
Robert Biedron, a gay rights activist, and Anna Grodzka, an openly transgender woman, have been sworn in as members of Poland's national parliament. Grodzka said the Polish people were responsible for the progress she represented. "They wanted a modern Poland, a Poland open to variety, a Poland where all people would feel good regardless of their differences. I cannot fail them in their expectations," Grodzka said.
