The 2,300-year-old torture chamber: Ancient dungeon containing a 'bloody well and death rooms' unearthed in Turkey

Turkish archaeologists made the gruesome discoveries while excavating the walls in the ancient region of Bithynia, now known as Bursa. Stock image of Bursa walls pictured. Experts believe deaf and mute hangmen would have thrown the prisoner's heads into the well. The bodies would then have been passed to the prisoner's relatives. The dungeons and tools are set to be put on display once excavations have been completed.
