The day the KKK came to town: Poignant black and white photos from 1987 Ku Klux Klan march raise specter of bigotry on 60th anniversary of Brown Vs Board decision
Documentarian and photographer Michael Galinsky shot the KKK
rally in June 1987 when 40 members of the hate group descended on Chapel
Hill, North Carolina, along with some 2,000 protesters. Galinsky recent
found a cache of the negatives from his old photos taken a day after
his high school graduation and decided to release them as a reminder
that intolerance has not been completely eradicated in the U.S.
