Israel`s Minister of Culture Miri Regev vows to withhold funds from artists who `defame` the state
Ben Lynfield--More than 3,000 artists, including some of the country’s most prominent actors and directors, have signed a petition against Ms Regev’s policies and a recent decision by the education minister, Naftali Bennett, to put an end to attendance of Parallel Time by groups of high-school students. “We protest [against] the anti-democratic steps that government ministries are taking against artists and cultural persons whose productions or views don’t accord with the winds blowing from these ministries,” the petition says. “We declare that we will continue to look reality in the eye, express our views and obey our conscience even if we have to pay a price.” dn 

COMMENT:
How can a state be defamed that has lost its dignity? That has no dignity to loose?

Were does a state hold dignity when its government orders its soldiers to kill children, bomb hospitals, bomb schools, and creates special sections within its military that secretly murders prisoners while they are in the custody of the same government?

The question is if the Minister of Culture of the state of Israel, Miri Regev has any dignity, and honor!

A broader question is even more important, namely does the Israeli Government as a whole has any dignity left, any honor left?

We all know now, by and through the statements by soldiers of the Israeli army, that they were ordered by their commanders who received their orders from the highest of the highest in the government of the state of Israel, to kill without discretion civilians, bomb hospitals, bomb schools, and murder individuals who were in prison.

If and when we, as People of the World, regard that as dignity and honorably, then I, as one of the People of the World, feel no longer part of that World Community, then I am disgusted of the attitude by the People of the World, as I am already no longer surprised by the dishonorable position of the Israeli Government!

But, were I think, and know, that the People of the World are NOT accepting this position of and by the government of the state of Israel, I know that the dishonorable government of the state of Israel will be treated for what it is: dishonorable, criminal, without any dignity, and the creator of unheared and unacceptable suffering of innocent individuals!

It is, in my opinion, unacceptable that those who claim to have been suffering from and by the atrocities caused and created by the followers of adolf hitler in and during the Second World War, in death camps created by the system of adolf hitler and elsewhere, are inflicting in the year 2015 the same suffering to other people, by creating a collective death-camp in the form of the Gaza Strip, and it is to me totally unacceptable that people who claim to have lost millions of people in and during the Second World War are causing to others what they themselves claim to have happened to their ancestors!

I do not accept that the Jewish state of Israel, created because of the fact that the World as a whole refrained from protecting the lives of people with the Jewish faith from extinction, is practicing that what adolf hitler and the followers of the national-socialist principles and ideology were practicing!

No human being should accept these practices, and every human being with dignity and honor should stand up and fight what is practiced by the Jewish state of Israel, in all and every legal way and manner!

Regardless of the practices by a few who fire rockets from occupied territory, it is unacceptable in my opinion that a state that claims to be created on the principles of democracy is practicing precisely that what brought disaster to the world and that ended democracy!
