California Judge Throws Out ‘Kill The Gays’ Sodomite Suppression Act
A California judge has thrown out an anti-gay ballot measure seeking the death penalty for “the abominable crime against nature known as buggery, called also sodomy.”
On Monday, Sacramento County Superior Court Judge Raymond M. Cadei ruled the proposed ballot measure calling for the killing of gay people “patently unconstitutional on its face.”
Without the court’s ruling, California Attorney General Kamala Harris would have been legally forced to proceed with the heinous initiative petition calling for the execution of gays and lesbians.
In his decision, Judge Cadei ruled that requiring Harris to advance McLaughlin’s proposal to the signature-gathering phase “would be inappropriate, waste public resources, generate unnecessary divisions among the public and tend to mislead the electorate.”
The ballot measure, submitted by Huntington Beach attorney Matthew McLaughlin, sought to authorize the murder of gays and lesbians by “bullets to the head” or “any other convenient method.”

This proposed act is the product of bigotry, seeks to promote violence, is patently unconstitutional and has no place in a civil society. If passed, the “Sodomite Suppression Act” would have required that any person who willingly touched another person of the same gender for purposes of sexual gratification be put to death.
The initiative, filed on Feb. 24, 2015, states:
a) The abominable crime against nature known as buggery, called also sodomy, is a monstrous evil that Almighty God, giver of freedom and liberty, commands us to suppress on pain of our utter destruction even as he overthrew Sodom and Gomorrha. And Christians claim they are being persecuted…
b) Seeing that it is better that offenders should die rather than that all of us should be killed by God’s just wrath against us for the folly of tolerating-wickedness in our midst, the People of California wisely command, in the fear of God, that any person who willingly touches another person of the same gender for purposes of sexual gratification be put to death by bullets to the head or by any other convenient method.
