A Colorado school board member has sparked controversy in the her local community after refusing to recognize the rights of transgender students, saying they shouldn't be allowed access to facilities which match their gender unless they have undergone surgery.

Katherine Svenson, of the Delta County School Board, publicly stated in October that she doesn't support the rights of trans people to use restrooms that match their gender identity.

Speaking at a meeting in October, Svenson handed out an issue of the Education Reporter which covered the recently passed laws in California and Massachusetts, saying 'I just want to empathize: not in this district. Not until the plumbing's changed. There would have to be castration in order to pass something like that around here.

Svenson stands by her comments, later stating:'I don't have a problem if some boys think they are girls, I'm just saying as long as they can impregnate a woman, they're not going to go in the girls locker room.'

Delta County officials disagree with Svenson's views.

Assistant Superintendent Kurt Clay said: 'That's an opinion of hers. We truly believe in Delta County School District that every student has different needs, and that we are here to address those individual needs.'

Svenson's comments came despite the Colorado Civil Rights Division ruling trans students must be granted access to facilities that match with their gender in June this year, during a case where a trans first-grade student needed to use the female bathrooms at her school.

In 2008, the Colorado Anti-Discrimination Act prohibited discrimination based on gender identity

  1. In my probably not so politically correct opinion this woman should

    a. thrown off the board of the school, arrested and prosecuted for discrimination of a minority, as well as hate-mongering!

    b. be prevented to ever again have a seat on whatever public serving institution whatsoever, including but not limited to services that involve any other human being!

    c. be shaved and covered with tar and feathers, and paraded through town and county, so that everyone can see who and what sort of lowlife creatures nature has produced!

    d. have her sexual organs removed, to prevent being able to procreate ever, or when she already has given birth that these off-springs be checked mentally if they possibly have the same social mental defects!

Indeed, a not so politically correct but a more then serious opinion!
This sort of creatures are unworthy to breath the air that humans deserve, and all air that she breaths is theft from normal people!

And, I realize that probably and possibly a lot of people disagree with my opinion, that may be so, but be aware that having this opinion is an expression of a. my right to an opinion, b. use of free speech, and c. giving those who disagree the opportunity to find the delete key on their computer........ DUG!
