LA Confidential: Incredible scenes of crime photographs dating back 100 years are found in secret LAPD archive
A selection of 50 historic crime scene photos have been gathered
from a collection of over one million from the City Records Center in
downtown Los Angeles for a special art exhibition. The Center - a vast
repository that stores 150 years worth of the city documents - contained
boxes upon boxes of negatives from the Special Investigations Division,
America's oldest crime lab. Photographer and LAPD reserve officer
Merrick Morton gained access to the site and has spent the last 13 years
rifling through the boxes, finding everything from bank robbery notes
to murder scenes (main).
