Oakland to weigh civilian oversight of Police Department as sexual misconduct scandal widens

The Oakland Police Department has been plunged into a new scandal involving allegations of sexual misconduct by officers.
Over the last week, the police chief has stepped down and other Bay Area departments are now investigating whether their officers have also been involved in wrongdoing. The controversy comes just as many thought the scandal-plagued Oakland department was finally turning around.
