Indiana city bans anti-gay, anti-trans bias
The City Council in Evansville, Ind., has voted to add sexual orientation and gender identity to the city's nondiscrimination ordinance, which bans discrimination in employment, housing and public accommodation. "It's an important economic step and it shows that Evansville is a community that welcomes diversity," said Wally Paynter, president of the Tri-State Alliance. Evansville Courier & Press (Ind.)
