U.N. urges countries to end laws punishing LGBT people
The United Nation's High Commissioner for Human Rights, in a report released Thursday, called for the worldwide abolition of legal discrimination against people based on their sexual orientation and gender identity. The report detailed human rights abuses around the world affecting LGBT people, and cited a number of countries where homosexuality is punishable by death. Google/The Associated Press (12/16)
