Bipartisan support building for Wash. marriage bill
A bill that would legalize marriage for same-sex couples in Washington state nearly has enough legislative votes to pass this year, according to an Associated Press analysis. "I don't feel diminished when another human being is allowed to exercise the same rights that I enjoy," said Sen. Cheryl Pflug, a Republican who has announced her support for the measure. Sen. Ed Murray, an openly gay Democrat who sponsored the bill, said he’s "50% optimistic" it will pass, cautioning that nobody can know the outcome until the vote is taken.
