Ted Cruz posted message on his Facebook page publicly mourning the loss of Nelson Mandela and speaking of him as a great man and a crusader for civil liberties. This refreshing diversion from Rick Santorum and Bill O'Reilly's open denouncements of the man who spent much of his life in prison because of his opposition of Apartheid has shocked the world.

Needless to say, Conservatives are not happy. The Nobel Peace Prize winning South African President, they feel, should be reviled as a horrid beast who committed "white genocide" or something like that. How dare he say something like this:

 Ted's single act of human decency touched a nerve with his once-faithful, causing him to be denounded as a RINO and--the worst of all, a Communism supporting LIBERAL!

Have a peek at just some of the hilarious backlash resulting from a completely normal statement honoring a great man when he passed away:

 

That's right--honoring a good man is "supporting Communist terrorism" to these people.

How will Senator Cruise recover from this? Will he issue a public apology for the single act of decency of which he has ever been capable? Thus far, Cruz has not removed the post--but he is losing his most whacko, fringe nut followers, as well.

The only thing for certain is that it's hilarious to see Ted Cruz consumed by the monsters he helped create.
