More than 100 Syrian refugees have biked into Norway this year,
exploiting a legal loophole that only prohibits crossing on foot and
giving rides to people without papers. They enter through the country's
border with Russia, near the Arctic city of Murmansk. "It is not news to
us that tourists cross the border on bicycles, but recently we've also
started to see some asylum seekers coming by bicycle," said a border
official. Authorities say they will begin to crack down on people
driving migrants across the border.
