Officials Save Adorable Sloth Clinging To Highway Crash Barrier

If you, as a human, think the world is scary, imagine what innocent and vulnerable animals – such as the sloth – think about modern living.
One can only image what the sloth bear (pictured above) was feeling when he wandered onto a highway in Ecuador and, later, was rescued.
Reuters reports that late last week, a frightened sloth was found clinging to a highway crash barrier in Equador. The Comision de Transito del Ecuador (Transit Commission of Ecuador) shared the news on its Facebook page with the caption:
“We are grateful to all those people who were interested in the health of the animal.
“The sloth bear rescued by our unit was reviewed by a veterinarian, who determined that it was in optimal condition to be returned to its habitat.”

Authorities were alerted to the presence of a sloth who was found clinging to a crash barrier.

As you might know, sloth species are listed as threatened or in danger of extinction due to habitat loss and human encroachment. The animals make their homes in the treetops of South American rainforests and, as the forests are cut down, are forced to relocate or are stranded with nowhere to go.

Luckily, this adorable guy was saved when he wandered onto an Ecuadorian highway.
