Judge in Tenn. denies state's request to put marriage ruling on hold
Tennessee
must recognize same-sex marriages while it appeals a ruling in favor of
three same-sex couples, a federal judge ruled on Thursday. The state
had asked the judge to issue a stay of her ruling that the state must
recognize same-sex marriages. State officials have "not even approached"
their burden to show that failure to issue a stay would result in
"irreparable harm," the judge said. BuzzFeed
