Rush Limbaugh Suggests That Obama Waterboards Reporters (No, Really!) (Video)
by David Kloss
Keeping with his standard offensive blathering and shameless lies,
Rush Limbaugh took a minor mistake made by a local TV reporter on
Thursday and somehow managed to snowball it into outlandish claims of
the Obama Administration waterboarding the press.
Reporter Catherine Anaya recently interviewed President Obama as
part of a special opportunity granted to local reporters. This special
access included a press briefing with White House Press Secretary Jay
Carney as well as a chance to meet with White House staff. In her
report, Anaya mentioned that she was asked to submit questions ahead of
time, a statement which quickly drew media attention, including a
rebuttal from Carney. Soon after Anaya clarified that it was not a White
House policy but that she submitted her question for the press briefing
to a White House staffer to be sure that it was appropriate:

question but in my attempt at explaining that I unintentionally made it
sound like that experience applied to everyone. That is my mistake and I
own up to it.” [/box]
Right-wing
mouthpiece and asylum escapee Rush Limbaugh was of course all over the
story, but Anaya's correction only managed to push him to even greater
levels of insanity. Insisting that she was forced to make the
retraction, Rush then speculated what sorts of heinous torture must have
been done to her and her family to get the confession. He even goes so
far as to compare this torturous, fantasy White House of his to Abu
Ghraib, asking repeatedly if she was waterboarded and pleading with
Anaya to tell them what they did to her. It's pretty insane.
