Coat_of_arms_of_ugandaHave you ever noticed that anti-gay Evangelicals tend to have a really warped view about homosexuality as well as being absolutely obsessed with gay sex? Well, spouting his warped view of homosexuality, Scott Lively has posted an article somewhere praising the “courageous” Ugandan people for trying to make homosexuality punishable by death while, at the same time, claiming he doesn’t support the bill.
This is not surprising. Ever since the bill was first introduced, Evangelical Christians like Lively have tried desperately to distance themselves from the bill while, at the same time, trying to voice support for it.
Lively, of course, tends to fall in line with so many anti-gay activists claiming that homosexuality is like alcoholism or drug use. They do this because they want desperately to sound like there is something less than religious to their bigotry. Lively claims that by criminalizing homosexuality, Uganda would “discourage non-users from starting.”

Lively,
though, also showed off his idiocy claiming that while Uganda was “firmly [resisting] the enormous power and relentless pressure of the international ‘gay’ lobby. . .Uganda’s AIDS rate went from the highest to the lowest in Africa during this same time period.” Actually Uganda’s AIDS rate has gone up in that time frame not down.
Lively also claimed that “I do not support the proposed anti-homosexuality law as written”, and claimed that his recommendations for the bill were rejected. He went on to state “As one of the first laws of this century to recognize that the destructiveness of the ‘gay’ agenda warrants opposition by government, it would deserve support from Christian believers and other advocates of marriage-based culture around the world.”
Lively has, in the past, claimed that LGBT rights was bringing about the wrath of God and that it was bringing about the “End of Days”. He is currently being sued by Sexual Minorities Uganda over his actions in Uganda over the past ten years laying the ground work for this particular bill.
Lively’s anti-gay positions have included the fact that he believes that Adolf Hitler and the inner circle of the Nazi Party were all gay despite evidence to the contrary. In fact, none of his positions have ever been based on anything other than his religion-based anti-gay hatred.
