Group aims to ban workplace discrimination against LGBT Americans
Freedom to Work, a new organization whose sole aim is passage of a federal law protecting U.S. workers from anti-LGBT discrimination, said it plans to disband as soon as it accomplishes that goal. Though some states have enacted their own version of the federal Employment Non-Discrimination Act, 29 still allow employees to be fired based on sexual orientation, and 35 permit terminating workers because of their gender identity.
